Toilet Clogs

If your toilet has clogged and won't flush, use a plunger to attempt to dislodge the clog. If you don't own a plunger, you can purchase one from a local hardware or big box store.

Shower/Sink Clogs

If your shower or sink won't drain properly, there may be hair or other debris in the drain. You may be able to clean the drain using a cleaning tool or hand auger.

Please don't use harsh chemicals on the drain, as this could damage the pipes.

Outlets are not working:

Rule out equipment failure by trying to power the equipment from another outlet. If you suspect that the outlet is the problem, reset the breaker to see if this resolves the issue. You may need to reset the GFCI.

The whole property is without power:

If your property is the only one without power, it is likely caused by a breaker that has been tripped. Locate the breaker box and reset the breaker to see if the power is restored. Call your electric company if you continue to experience issues, to see if there is an outage in your area.

If you don't have hot water available in your rental, locate the hot water heater and check that the settings look accurate. If your heater is gas-powered, verify that the pilot light is still lit.

You can also verify that the water heater isn't in vacation mode. If you make any changes to the temperature settings, wait 15 to 20 minutes before testing the water again.

If your heat or air conditioning isn't working, locate the central thermostat in your rental home and verify that all settings are accurate. You may be able to cycle the system off and back on to restore the system defaults.
